Storm Windows – End of the Summer Tasks, which is always a big task! They are operable where required and the window sashes are removable for easy cleaning. They insulate your home just as well, if not better, than double-pane windows. Why? Because the space between the storm windows and existing windows is much greater than any double-pane window made.
Also, if moisture builds up between the panes, it evaporates out. This eliminates the need for insulated glass replacement due to seal failure and fogging. Storm windows are a specialty at Barton Glass.
Storm Windows – End of the Summer Tasks
These can be installed on the outside of regular, single-paned windows. And don’t forget this: storm windows are a great solution for enclosing screened porches to protect against the winds of winter; you will increase your living space with an insulated porch.
The framing for storm windows can be aluminum, wood, or vinyl . Aluminum is light weight, strong, almost maintenance free.
The installation of storm windows has to be snug and tight and be in square with the original window. It needs to allow for ease of removal for cleaning and for ventilating the room when needed. If storm windows are mounted on the exterior, they must have holes at the bottom that allow any moisture build up to weep out.
Property managers: This would be a great application for a rental property because it provides greater efficiency at a much lower cost than replacement windows.
